Joyce E. (Landis) Kline, 91, Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her home.

Born November 21, 1928 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Ruth E. (Monosmith) Landis and A. Martin Landis and was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Esther. She was a 1946 graduate of John Harris High School and retired as a secretary from AMP after 26 years of employment.

A longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Joyce was always involved in activities: as a money counter, an Easter Egg project helper and part of the Kitchen Crew; as well as many other groups within the church. She had been a member of a bowling league; was a former member of the “Jaycettes”; was an avid fan of the Phillies and Penn State Football; and enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends in their card groups.

Mostly, Joyce cherished caring for her beloved family. Raising three boys, she was the original “Little League Mom” and became quite familiar with the local emergency rooms. A great cook, the neighborhood kids would often make their way to her house for her spaghetti. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She joins in Heaven her beloved husband, J. Robert Kline, who passed away in 1998 after 50 blessed years of marriage.

Surviving are her sons: Stephen D. Kline (and his wife, Barbara), Mechanicsburg, David A. Kline, Wormleysburg, and Jeffrey D. Kline, Harrisburg; her brother: Gregory P. Landis, Harrisburg; 2 granddaughters: Mallory Fleisher (and her husband, Wes), Harrisburg, and Lauren Roland (and her husband, Scott), Harrisburg, 3 great-grandchildren: Fallyn Fleisher, Jackson Fleisher and Rhys Fleisher; 2 step grandchildren: Jared Eichelberger (and his wife, Jennifer) and Clark Eichelberger (and his wife, Stefani); and 4 step great-grandchildren: Liam Eichelberger, Stella Eichelberger, Caroline Eichelberger, and Caleb Eichelberger.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her church, Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, 17109, with the Rev. R. Jeffrey Fisher, her pastor, officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 11:00 am until the time of services. Burial in Rolling Green Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family.
