Leonard P. Zubrickas of Dunmore died Monday at Moses Taylor Hospital. His wife is the former Sylvia Kacaba. They celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage on Sept. 7.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Peter and Ona Lazanauskas Zubrickas, he was a graduate of the Johnson School and served in the Army during the Korean War, when he received the Army of Occupation Medal. Before retirement, he worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing as a machinist for many years. A faithful parishioner of the Providence of God Lithuanian National Catholic Church, he was a former church vice president. He was a member of Peter Williamson Lodge 323, Free and Accepted Masons, and the International Association of Machinists.

Len loved to fish, take trips to Canada and spend time outdoors. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family with all his heart and they in return cherished his love. When people met Len, they could tell by his smile that he was a kind, gentle and loving person who would remain in their hearts.

Also surviving are a son, Leonard J. Zubrickas and wife, Roseann, Dunmore; a daughter, Wendy Cummings and husband, Michael, Scranton; four grandchildren, Gerard and Christina Zubrickas and Andrew and Elizabeth Cummings; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; and four sisters, Anna Zubrickas, Mary Sadauskas, Helen Kveragas and Albina Mickere.

The funeral will be Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Providence of God Lithuanian National Catholic Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Walter A. Placek, Ph.D., pastor. Interment with military honors, parish cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Thursday, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Masonic services will be at 7:15. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to Providence of God Lithuanian National Catholic Church, 1743 N. Sumner Ave., Scranton, PA 18508.
