ELIZABETH BARRETTE DUCK, 69, went home to the Lord August 31, 2012, at her home in League City, Texas. She was born to Colonel Arlo and Sarah Mitchell on May 2, 1943, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. She was a member of Pine Drive Community Church in Dickinson where she sang in the choir, served as a teacher’s aide in the Christian school, and brought joy and encouragement to the other activities and ministries of the church and Christian school.
Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Pastor Ted A. Duck, daughter Tracy Lois Duck of League City, and son Mitchell McAdams Duck of Burleson, Texas, brother, George Arlo Mitchell and his wife Christine of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, brother-in-law, Gerald L. Duck and his wife, Rosemary of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and three grandchildren, Jace, Colton, and Grace.
There will be a Celebration of Life for her on Saturday, September 8, at 11:00 A.M. at Pine Drive Community Church in Dickinson, Texas with Pastor Ted A. Duck officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Drive Christian School, Dickinson, Texas.
