John J. Bolin, of Valley Street, Exeter, died Sunday at Allied Services Rehabilitation Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late George and Anna (McHale) Bolin.

He attended St. John’s High School, Pittston, and resided in Exeter for 45 years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

He served with the Pennsylvania State Police, Erie, and was later associated with the family’s floral business.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, serving as an usher for many years.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 635 and Niagara Volunteer Fire Co., both in Pittston.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Joseph; and sister, Marie Chamo.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Lucille Mauriello; daughters, Ann Marie Lawrence, West Pittston; Catherine Onzik, Swoyersville; sons, Carmen and John, both of Wyoming and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services wil be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

Internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
