Robert Dougherty Holm, age 81, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Medicana Nursing & Rehab in Lake Worth, FL.
Funeral services celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM-12:00PM and burial immediately following at the Falmouth Chapel Cemetery, Newton.
Bob was born on May 31, 1941, in Falmouth, IL to James Robert & Ethel Fae (Dougherty) Holm. He attended Lincoln High School in Lincoln, IL and graduated in 1959. In 1963, he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Bellmore, NY where soon after, he met and married Carol Ann Deitenbach. In 1970, his only Son, Robert Dougherty Holm II was born.
He retired with 30 years of service from the Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO)/National Grid. Bob moved to Boynton Beach, Florida after retiring. He then worked for the Palm Beach Water Authority for 10 years and volunteered his time at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Bob will be loved and remembered by so many, especially by his son, Robert (Maria) of Melville, NY, Siblings Mary Joan (Rex) Ammerman of Bloomington, IL and John (Christine) of Morton, IL. He is also survived by his loving partner, Roberta Selick of Boynton Beach, FL and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents James Robert & Ethel Fae (Dougherty) Holm, his wife, Carol Ann (Deitenbach) Holm and his sister, Roberta Jane (Holm) Bruner & Brother-in-Law, Charles E. Bruner, Sr.
