Carl Albert Reynolds, 82, of Lewisberry, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, with his wife and family at his side. Born to the late Clarence and Geraldine (Thomas) Reynolds in Adams County, he would attend New Cumberland High School before serving his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. Carl was a role model to many and a friend to all. He worked hard all his life, setting the bar high when it came to how one should support a wife and family. He was an auto body repairman most of his life, and would go on to work at Lefever Bros., Dillsburg, retiring after 37 years of employment. Carl was sociable and upbeat, and being with his family brought him tremendous joy. He bowled for many years at Trindle Bowl with friends and family and participated in the PA State USBC for 35 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially when his wife was hanging on tight, and the pair successfully traveled through the contiguous 48 states. He was supportive of veterans and routinely participated in the Children’s Miracle Network motorcycle ride from Geysinger Medical Center, Danville, to Knoebels Grove. A man of faith, Carl and family have long-attended Fairview Brethren in Christ Church, New Cumberland. He was also a 35+ year member of the American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg. A self-taught woodworker, he skillfully crafted chests, toys, and picture and mirror frames for family and friends. He took pride in caring for his lawn and property, sitting atop his beloved tractor. Carl was a human atlas, knowing multiple ways to get from point A to B in PA (and beyond). He was an avid hunter and kept his mind sharp with jigsaw puzzles. No matter the season of his life, his magnetic personality and kindness left many with a lasting impression. Surviving Carl are his wife and best friend of 60 years, Carolyn (Smith) Reynolds; children, Carl E. Reynolds (Robin) of York Springs, Carla E. Roller (Bob) of Dillsburg, Brian C. Reynolds of Elliottsburg, Scott A. Reynolds (Amy) of Butler, Angela M. Hoover (Scott) of York Haven, and Paula A. Williams (Keith) of New Cumberland; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Glenda Rudy, Donna Bishop (Paul) and Arlene Myers; and a sister-in-law, Lorrie Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ellis Simmons; two brothers, Harold “Butch” and Charles “Bub” Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Herbert Myers. A public viewing will be held from 10AM until funeral services begin at noon on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Fairview Brethren in Christ Church, New Cumberland. Immediately following, interment will take place in Fairview Bethel Cemetery, Lewisberry.
