It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalie Valenti, 79 years old, who passed away on November 29, 2024.

Rosalie Valenti was born on April 14, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, and then became a proud resident of Staten Island, New York, where she dedicated much of her life to fostering community and faith.

Rosalie was a deeply committed member of the Staten Island Council of Churches, serving as its esteemed Council Secretary. Her dedication and enthusiasm brought immense joy and unity to the organization, as she worked tirelessly to bring members of Christian churches across Staten Island together in fellowship. Affectionately known as the “Sergeant at Arms,” Rosalie was celebrated as the longest-standing member of the Council, a title that reflected her unwavering commitment and the love she inspired in everyone she worked with. Her legacy of faith, laughter, and connection continues to resonate deeply within the community she served so passionately.

Rosalie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a woman with a nurturing spirit whose kindness extended far beyond her family.

Rosalie Valenti is survived by her spouse Pasquale Valenti, her children Andrea DeQuar and Patricia Valenti, her son in law Frank DeQuar, her grandchildren Luke and Olivia Rutkowski, her brother Anthony Lombardi, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Gennaro, Vincent, and John Lombardi.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.

Visitation services will be held at Casey-McCallum Rice Funeral Home, located at 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. The visitation is scheduled for December 1, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A funeral service will take place at St. Clare Roman Catholic Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308, on December 2, 2024, from 9:45 am to 10:30 am.

The committal service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Ave, Staten Island, NY 10309, on December 2, 2024, from 11:00 am to 11:15 am.

She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
