How to Publish an Obituary?

  2. You will receive a response from us, with additional information.
  3. Make the payment (just a flat $30 fee – price includes the narrative plus 1 or 2 pictures of the deceased person). If the obituary was published elsewhere, let us know and we’ll publish it for free.
  4. See the obituary published. You can share it with family members and find it here whenever you wish to re-read it.

He was preceded in death by his parents; John Smith, Sr. and Mary Roberts Smith, and his brothers, Charles Smith and George Smith. He is survived by his nephew Robert Wilson (Cheryl) and his brother, Jerry Smith of New York City, NY. John grew up in the Smithtown, NY area and is a graduate of Smithtown Area High School, and New York State College.

Relatives, family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of the Life of John Smith, Jr. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 9:00 am at Smithtown Church, 1234 Main St, Smithtown. Reverend Robert Pastor will officiate. Burial will be immediately following in the Smithtown Cemetery.

Anytown; and eight grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in his church. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Smithville, NY.

Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the Smithville Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of his church, 15 Main St, Smithville, NY 12345.

John Lawrence Smith, 88, of Smithville passed away January 20, 2020, surrounded by his family. John was born October 1, 1931 in Somewhere, New York to Mary Roberts Smith and Jacob Lester Smith. John spent his early years as a youth in the Somewhere, New York area. After entering the University
of Somewhere on a ROTC scholarship, John graduated in 1953. He proudly served in the United States Navy for three years reaching
the rank of Lieutenant.

While stationed at the United States Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia, he met Mary Miller for the first time on December 5, 1953. This was a meeting he fondly described as love at first sight and by God’s providential grace, John met with Mary again in Heaven for the first time on January 20, 2020.

First and foremost, John was a wonderful Christian man who exemplified Christ in every aspect of his life. He faithfully and humbly served his Savior Jesus over 50 years at his church. And these other various organizations.

John enjoyed the outdoors and the beauty of God’s creation making many memories with his family and friends fishing, hunting and traveling. John and Mary enjoyed their retirement traveling to see their children and grandchildren. He loved Mary deeply and they especially enjoyed visiting Mary
childhood home area in New England visiting her favorite lighthouses, enjoying lobster, clam chowder and the beautiful fall colors.

John and Mary also enjoyed traveling to the American West exploring state parks and many places around the country.

In addition to his parents, Miles was preceded in death by the love of his life for 53 years, Mary Miller Smith, brothers Jerry Smith and Joseph Smith. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Robert Smith of Smithville, daughter Jane (Albert) Davis of Smithtown; grandchildren Laura Jo (William) Rogers and William (Jennifer) Davis of Smithtown; Also bringing delight to his life were the following great grandchildren …

For those wishing to pay their respects, visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, January 23 rd at [fill in church name]. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday January 24th at the same church, with the Reverend George Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.
